Friends of Kipkelion – Working with the people of Kipkelion, Kenya, to build a better future
We are a UK registered charity (no. 1188612) founded in 2010. We support water, sanitation and healthcare projects in Kipkelion, a rural area of Kenya.
Kipkelion has a population of about 300,000, spread across 1000 square miles. Half the population is under 18, and few families have access to clean drinking water, electricity or medical facilities. Many children, especially girls, miss out on secondary school, and FGM is still practised in parts of the area. Since we started we have raised over £1 million to improve life for people in Kipkelion. We are all volunteers and our charity has hardly any overheads, so nearly all the money we raise is spent on implementing projects in Kenya.
